Once iTunes has downloaded Numba™ it will appear on your device and can be played by tapping on the Numba icon on your device's desktop. You can move the game to your device's quick launch dock if required. How To Play After starting the game you can play three great game modes - Classic, Timeless and Puzzle. Classic - start on level one and play against the level timer. Timeless - can be played for as long as you want to get the highest score. Puzzle - start on Puzzle 1 and see how many puzzles you can complete. The player must create number chains by highlighting and connecting a selection of three or more number tiles to create a number chain. Just use your finger to select and highlight number chains you think work, i.e. select a starting tile and drag to highlight a chain of numbers. Example valid number chains: Straight Run - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Odd Run - 1, 3, 5 Reverse Doubling - 8, 4, 2 Same Numbas - 5, 5, 5, 5, 5 Reverse Run - 3, 2, 1 Even Run - 2, 4, 6 Incremental States - 1, 5, 9 Time and Levels The Time Bar shows how much time you have left in the level. The Level Indicator shows you the level you are on and how much has been completed. Score Multiplier The Score Multiplier adds a multiplier bonus to your score, i.e. your score will be multiplied by x2, x3, x4 etc., up to a maximum of x9. You need to collect six Numba Gems to increase the Score Multiplier. Jumble If you get stuck, or can't find any number chains, shake your iPod or iPhone to Jumble the board, offering new number chain options. The Jumble indicator shows how many Jumbles you have in the game. You can collect a maximum of five Jumbles at any one time. Bonuses These are some of the bonuses you can attain. 4x4 Reverse Run Even Run Doubling Fire Chain Long Chain Jumble Reverse Doubling 9x9 Odd Run The more you play, the more you'll discover. Special Tiles Fire Tiles Fire tiles burn out after five turns, use them before they expire. Can be extinguished when placed next to an Ice Block. Burnt Tiles Burnt Tiles disappear in a puff of smoke when they reach the bottom of the grid. Ice Tiles Ice Tiles melt after ten moves and can also be melted by Fire Tiles. Vanish Tiles Vanish Tiles fade in and out after each move and can only be used when they are fully visible. Chameleon Tiles Chameleon Tiles change their number after each turn, cycling through all the available numbers. Tile Bonuses Multiplier Bonuses When used in a number chain, these will apply a multiplier bonus to the chain's total. Time Bonuses Use a Time Bonus in a number chain and receive extra time to complete the level. Jumble Bonuses When used, this bonus adds an extra Jumble to the Jumble Total. Tip After 20(ish) seconds, if you haven't selected a number chain, a sparkle will show on-screen to give you a hint as to where a valid number chain is. Note: this hint will only be available twice per game and does not appear in Puzzle Mode. Get More Out of Your Game Try playing with friends or family to see who can get the highest score. Device Troubleshooting Tip Very occasionally, the iPhone touch input may get confused and not respond to input within an acceptable time.
